The thought of "Porn proofing children" has been a thorn in my soul for several years. (Particularly my own 11 grandchildren.)
Professionally, I've been working with youth and sex problems for many many years. I've attended workshops and even taught workshops / firesides on sex. And of course I was employed at a community mental health center providing a variety of mental health services including sex-specific. My conclusions:
Porn and inappropriate sexual behavior cause major problems. It's like a disease. We need to learn how to porn proof our youth. No way would the Lord leave us without sufficient resources to fight against one of Satan's finest tools.Over the years, others have viewed pornography as a "disease."

Assuming "Porn Addiction" is a "disease" then "porn proofing" children requires "inoculation". One must "inoculate" a child at a certain time in life with specific antibiotics - "skills and knowledge." (Why not? We "inoculate" and provide "boosters" for dozens of other diseases.)
Here is my definition for "inoculation" against the disease of porn addiction.

to "porn addiction".
(and other inappropriate sexual behaviors.)
I am convinced inoculating youth with specific skills and knowledge - as needed - will immune them against our sexualized world.
It makes perfect sense!
After all:
“Train up a child in the way he should go and when
he is old, he will not depart from it.” (Prov. 22:6)

- Is comprehensive in identifying the necessary and sufficient "skills and knowledge".
- Provides a simple, practical, and flexible curriculum that a average parent can teach.
- Focuses on the glory and beauty of virtue not the hell and ugliness of porn addiction.
"Porn Proofing Kids" is a focused approach. It does not include ALL general parenting skills. For example, there are some parenting skills essential for good parenting and yet not discussed in the Porn Proofing Curriculum. Here are some examples.
- Ability to teach. I assume you are a capable parent doing your best at parenting/grand parenting. If you are not go find some resources like: A Parent's Guide Chapter 2: Principles for Teaching Children.
- Testimony of the Gospel. I assume you are Latter-day Saint doing your best at returning home to Christ. If you are not go find some resources like: How Do I Gain A Testimony or Gaining a Testimony of God the Father; His Son, Jesus Christ; and the Holy Ghost.
- Ability to communicate with your children. I assume you are doing your best at talking to your children and getting them to talk to you. If you and your child cannot talk about school, church and friends you are not ready to talk to them about sexual relations. If you cannot talk to your kids, go find some resources like: Can Your Child Really Talk To You; or Family Conversations: Talking About Healthy Sexuality
Ponder and pray about your children's or grandchildren's need to begin the Porn Proofing "Booster Series." Consider your ability as a parent or grandparent to successfully inoculate them against porn and other immoral sexual behavior.

Parents today have to realize that their children will be exposed to porn and immoral sexual behavior every day. In movies, on tv, in certain books, even some school books, by teachers in school and even so called friends. The FORBIDDEN FRUIT may seem sweet to some children at first.
